I gave this to my 13 year old niece for Christmas and she got really excited. Her friends came over the next day and even with all the high tech gifts and the other gifts, this was the one they wanted to look at and then try on each other's hair. They were braiding and doing really nice hair styles on each other in no time. I recommend this book for anyone out there who has long hair or knows someone with long hair. Very well written with great pictures and easy to following instructions.Product details

This book is awesome. There is a picture for every step with an explanation. The book starts with simple braids that are just twists and so easy to do and so beautiful and advances to nine strands and merges and ........ incredible!!!

I bought this book for my daughter for Christmas and I'm sure we will enjoy going through it and trying them out.
The other thing that impresses me is all the example photos. It has a basic braid, accented, cascade and accented cascade. What's so cool about that is you can see how one type of braid can be so different and how much you can do by just learning and becoming skilled at one braid.
If you like hair and like to braid, I highly recommend this book be part of your collection. You will be so happy to have it!
This book was the best hair braiding book that there is around. I learned so many new techniques, I went to cosmetology school and I NEVER SEEN THESE BRAIDS PREFORMED BEFORE, these are one of a kind VERY UNIQUE BRAIDS.. .I will say they were so easy to earn with the HOW TO instructions and the great photos. The author spent her time and made things so clear it felt like she was right there teaching me. I loved the colorful photos they were such great photos of the models. This book can teach you how to dazzle up any hair for special events and proms. I am going to use some of the techniques at my salon for weddings and when prom time comes around. I already did one braid in the salon for a trial run for a wedding and the bride was so satisfied with this unique braid she asked me to do the whole bridal parties in braids.. I THINK THIS WAS BY FAR THE BEST MONEY I EVER SPENT, I HAVE LEARNED SO MANY BRAIDING TECHNIQUES!! I HAVE ALSO PURCHASED A COUPLE BRAIDING BOOKS BEFORE BUT NONE ARE LIKE THIS ONE. YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR AND YOU LEARN SO MUCH WITH THE PICTURES AND THE HOW TO INSTRUCTIONS I WILL BE SURE TO SHOW ALL MY COSMETOLOGIST FRIENDS THIS BOOK. I am going to keep this book to myself at the salon though so no one knows where i got this amazing braiding talent........ I RECOMMEND THIS BOOK!!!

The definitive manual on braiding the alphabet of options to create unlimited styles. Maybe could be titled "Braider Creator Hair Braiding" after the organizational concept created by the author and included in the book. The photos are coffee table quality, fascinating from just the art perspective. I thought "500 pages" was a typo, but it really is the size of a Sears Catalog! Her skill level, (up to 11 strand braids! with only 10 fingers) is nationally recognized. The enclosed techniques make this manual a must for any hair professional, for tips and inspiration and the expansion of their skill set. Per her introduction, her intention was to allow anyone with the passion and vision to be capable of self-taught mastery in this ancient art form. I believe she has achieved this. K. Great book of easy step by step pictures to follow to make tons of different hair styles. My 7 year old loves to sit and look at all the pictures and pick out what she wants done with her hair.
This book is beautifully done with color plates showing each braiding technique in stages with clear instructions under each plate. The number of different styles is incredible and some quite elaborate. For those with long hair, this book is amazing and will go far to provide those who venture into new braiding techniques a unique hairstyle no one else has for special occasions!!
This book is an incredible compendium of all the braids you can imagine and more. It is organized logically, with very clear instructions. It shows each braid in three different ways (braid, stitch, and lace), explains 12 different forms (tail, circle, headband, junction, etc.), and also shows how to create accents. Some of my favorite styles are the push-up flowers (they're so easy, and yet so cool!) the headband cascade, and the circle form.
The book is HUGE, yet not a page is wasted. The examples are exquisitely detailed and inspiring, although beginners can apply the instructions to easier styles as well. The author obviously has great talent and a lot of experience! If you're looking for a braiding book that will last you your whole life, here it is!
